Can I afford it?

Why pay for underwear when you can get it cheaper? And nobody even sees them?!

With underwear – as with clothes in general – price and quality go hand in hand. And I'll add another cliché here: the poor cannot afford to buy cheap.

A large one-time cost feels – well, large – but in the long run, a quality product that can be maintained and repaired is usually more affordable than a cheap product that may need to be replaced after only a few uses.

A lingerie store salesperson once also commented that if you calculate the price of a bra per wear, it's not much! Most women wear them daily. As a bonus, you get a good feeling and self-confidence when you have something beautiful underneath, especially something specifically fitted and well-fitting.

If you want more reasons to invest less often but a little more, I'll mention the environment. All kinds of fast fashion and unnecessary consumption also harm the planet. The amount of textile waste is incomprehensibly large, but most of it is taken to third world countries where legislation is not as advanced as in the Nordic countries. And what you don't see, isn't a problem... or rather, it really is! So, do your part for the environment and buy durable!

Many think that more expensive underwear is for special occasions. I would argue the opposite – it is precisely the everyday garment, which is heavily used, that should be comfortable, the right size, bring joy, and support your well-being and movement regardless of the situation (not counting sports bras now). With a party outfit, you should also wear underwear that complements the dress, flatters your silhouette, and makes you shine.

Or – as another salesperson put it when I bought very special shoes – “The shoes ARE the occasion.” Good quality underwear makes everyday life a celebration and is a sufficient reason in itself to wear them.

Smile, you look great!
